Lafortune Group. Formerly under the name of Henri A. Lafortune, for 40 years, we have been specializing in the preparation of legal documents to be submitted to Canadian courts.
As experts in electronic document management, we created Avancie in order to offer our clients technology-based tools tailored to meet their needs.
2003
FIRST TECHNOLOGICAL SHIFT.
Lafortune went through its first technological shift in 2003, when the company developed, in conjunction with the Supreme Court of Canada, the electronic version of appeal documents, providing the foundation for electronic filing.
For over 10 years now, electronic files with keyword search and hyperlinks are relied upon in all courts and are used on a daily basis by legal officers, making their work much easier.

Secure hosting and sharing of electronic documents are nowadays major issues faced by legal officers having to choose between multiple online hosting and documentation service providers. However, the technical and legal requirements governing quality and safety of those services are seldom complied with.
For that reason, Avancie chose to provide its own solution and developed DOCURIUM, a file hosting and sharing platform designed for professional in the legal field and meeting the specific requirements of that specific field with regards to both security and capabilities.
